FEAR is an infamous punk band from New York in the early 80’s. One I’ve never been too familiar with as what I had heard was self deprecating and silly, which wasnt really my thing. I can appreciate it and regardless their logo is celebrated piece of Hardcore history one must acknowledged. It is an icon for subculture and dissidence.
In the personal protection industry FEAR is used as an acronym for FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. So when a PANDEMIC FEAR BREAKS OUT, I had to post it. Add a head shot as my profile pic and VOILA a digital work was born.
Add to that PANIC in the STREETS with ppl hoarding toilet paper and food supplies and we even have a political piece. You gotta believe I laughed a little. Especially at those living in first world countries… not only did I laugh… but I even found myself OFFENDED ! Middle class people FREAKING OUT as “perfect lives” get inconvenienced for a day or 2 or maybe even a month!!! FOR SURELY WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! LORD FOR BID WE have to break our daily routine and look at things a little differently. From over here, its like a bunch of spoiled brats whining they dont have their luxuries…
WELL I HATE TO BUST YER BUBBLE but there are A WHOLE BUNCH of people In THE WORLD WITHOUT the CONVENIENCES WE HAVE (that includes the first world kids) and they are getting up and DOING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE… LIKE WORKING JOBS and LIVING LIFE!!! Even for those inconvenienced by this truth there are solutions
Now I am not saying there is no issue and people arent at risk. JUST MAYBE THOUGH, THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL. MAYBE there is more to life then getting up everyday going to work going through your motions, getting PAID , coming home and watching porn. MAYBE ALL THAT COOL SHIT YOU LOVE IS CANCELED TO MAKE YOU REMEMBER A BUNCH OF SHIT YOU FORGOT. THINGS WE ALL FORGOT
MAYBE this is a small wake up call from the BIG GUY UPSTAIRS saying hey all the modernity in the world wont help you when the shit hits the fan!!! LIKE, do you remember when we were kids and you KNEW EVERYBODY ON YOUR BLOCK???? When was the last time you said hello to a neighbor. Even MORE OFFENSIVE is that ppl are freaking out over quarantine!!! Are you in your house right now???? LOOK AROUND YOU… there is more then ENOUGH to do for 100 years , especially with the internet!!!
Fer those who think I dont care bout you, you would be wrong, I have family at risk too… Just pointing out what I thought might be OBVIOUS. What I DONT CARE ABOUT is your need for COMFORT, your band wagon jumping , the fact your actions SHOW YOU DONT CARE ABOUT ME( your neighbor , your community, the family living in a shanty in a third world country you dont know) It is SOCIETIES VALUE SYSTEM THAT CAN TAKE A FLYING FUCK. AND THAT MY FRIEND IS PUNK ROCK!!! So you can take CONVENIENCE …. I WILL GLADLY TAKE DEATH!
